A great quote, huh?! I heard it in New York City last month at the Omega "Being Fearless" Conference, and it inspired me there, as well as since I've been back - I've shared it with friends, family, colleagues, my students…and it sends chills through me every time I read it or speak it. This concept of courage, fearlessness and empowerment, has been a thread woven into my life for years. In the '80's, I heard Maya Angelou speak at the Family Networker Conference in Washington, D.C., when she suggested that Courage was really the most important virtue that we could practice, because if we didn't practice courage, all the rest of the so-called virtues became meaningless - makes sense, doesn't it?! Also, I've come to believe that being courageous isn't only about running into burning buildings but is often about showing up every day and living the best life I know how to live. At the conference, attended by 1600+ people, I overheard someone saying in the hall, " I was trying so hard to be 'in the moment'", knowing that I can probably be convicted of that kind of behavior at times; I thought of remarks by Malcolm Gladwell (The Tipping Point, Blink), when he reminds us that the Unconscious Mind is so much wiser than the Conscious Mind, that when we trust our intuition and act from our guts as well as our heads, we can truly "be fearless" - as a Coach, I find that idea strikes a strong chord for me and my clients. So, let me hear your reactions to all this - do you agree? Disagree? What do you think? My newest plan these days is to be interested, not interesting…what a challenge for me, eh?! In its service, I truly want to hear from YOU! By the way, the cat-in-the-cape drawing was on my tear-off page the day I left for New York City, so it seemed appropriate to include!

Other News, Other Views
Teaching at the Community College goes on, and I love it, as my coaching business grows and re-configures…my dream to be living in Cape May County, N.J. by 2010 is on track; my trip there in March yielded encouraging contacts, and while I'm not ready to buy yet, I scoped out some prospects with the help of my terrific realtor, Michael Carr, (www.chrisclemans.com), and I am trusting the universe to lead me where I need to go, without allowing the cost to squash my dream - it will happen! Coaching alliances are bubbling up for me, too…mostly, they seem to find me! I expect to attend Dreamcoach University for a week of certification in January, 2007, (www.dreamcoach.com) with Marcia Wieder - contact me, if you want to learn more! I'll be exhibiting at the "Live, Laugh, and Learn" conference for Women next week, am also recording a commercial to be played on WWDB AM860 radio soon, and expect to be a guest on the "Body, Mind, and Balance" show on a Saturday afternoon this summer - Woo-Hoo! Along with all this great stuff, I intend to keep having fun, going to folk concerts/festivals, attending the weddings of my beautiful nieces Emily and Christy, spending time with friends and other dear family, and doing what I can to encourage Peace in the world - sounds like a plan to me! Hope all is well with you…in the meantime, let me know, if I can help you in any way to realize your dreams - Later!!!
